SPD 26- “Two Front War”

“She doesn’t give up!” Andie cried as she tried to get the horde of squirrels off her.

“Are we sure this chick is our cousin?” Bre asked.

“She looks just like Sammi, I’m pretty sure.” Clarissa said.

“Well she sure doesn’t act like her.”

“Which is why we’re taking this look alike out!” I cried as I tried to fight my way to get to Tammy.

“Sammi, come in.” Jeremy said over the communicator.

“A little busy right now babe.”

“We need your help. We’ve received word that SPD US is en route to Reefside.”

“We have our hands full with the Squirrel Princess. We’ll get there as soon as we can.”

“Hurry, we need a plan of attack.”

“We’ll be there soon as we can, promise. “ I said as I turned my focus back to Tammy. I jumped and flipped over several squirrels to get to her. She had on a hot pink spandex long sleeved shirt and pants again matching boots and a light pink belt. Her brown hair was pulled up in a high ponytail.

“You know sister, pink spandex looks better on me.” She said as she jump kicked me.

I stumbled back but stayed up, “How on earth can you be my sister? You are warped beyond words.”

“You just don’t understand. Life in my squirrel utopia will be glorious…and if you weren’t such a downer you could stand besides Daddy and I.”

“Thanks but no thanks. I’ll stand with my Daddy and the other humans.”

“Your loss.” She said as she attacked me again. I fought back. It was really weird fighting someone that looked so much like me. I knew I didn’t have a choice though. Tammy was evil and I was going to take her out if it was the last thing I did. I did have the upper hand here. I’d been trained in martial arts my whole life. It was clear Tammy had not. To be honest I almost got the feeling she had no training and was fighting based on what she’d seen on TV.

“You don’t know how to fight do you?” I asked as I twisted her arm behind her back.

“It’s not like it takes skill.” She said as she struggled to get away.

“Says the girl that I have in a hold.”

“Squirrels, help me!” Tammy cried.

Just like that an army of squirrels attacked me. One bit in my shoulder and the pain forced me to release Tammy.

“See, not like it takes that much skill.” Tammy smirked as she took a step back.

“Yeah, if you use rodents to do your dirty work.”

“It’s called teamwork, something you Ranger obviously know nothing about. Now if you’ll excuse me I’m late for dinner.” Tammy said as she took off, leaving us to fight the squirrels.

“Ugh! Tammy, get back here!” I cried…but she was gone.

“Get the squirrels and let’s finish this. The UK team needs us.” Clarissa said.

“Right.” We said as we continued to fight.

Dallas

“So everyone knows the plan?” Dad asked.

Lilli nodded, “Yes sir.”

“Um, not to be a downer, but have we taken into account the fact we’re out numbered…by a lot? We don’t even have a Pink or Purple Ranger.” I said.

“We don’t need them. First of all we’re more skilled fighters; second of all we’re just going to get a feel for how serious they are. We’re not staging a full out attack yet.” Charli said.

I made a face, “Um, newsflash, SPD UK is just as skilled as we are…and we trained Sage, Clarissa, and Sammi.”

“They don’t have powers anymore. We have them now. They’re defenseless.” Lilli said.

“No, they’re not.” Brooke said.

“What?”

“Felicity gave them the Wild Cat Morphers.”

“Oh just great…this would have been nice to know before.”

“You didn’t honestly think Felicity would leave her nieces and nephew defenseless, did you?”

“I figured Felicity was one of us.”

“Felicity was never one of us…and she’s turned Andy on us too.”

Charli shook her head, “Andy would never turn on us.”

“He already has.” Brooke replied.

“No, he hasn’t. He would turn his back on Felicity before he would turn on us.”

“Are you serious? That girl has a hold on him that nothing will break.”

“It doesn’t matter right now, what matters is that we’re out numbered.” I said.

“I don’t think that will matter.” Kara said as she walked in.

“Why’s that?”

“Because the Wild Cat Rangers are otherwise occupied with a new enemy.”

“New enemy?” Brooke asked.

“Yes. Tamra Thomas AKA The Squirrel Princess. I’ve done some checking around…evidently she is Sammi’s twin sister.” Kara said.

“Since when does Sammi have a sister?” I asked.

“Since she was born…but Tammy is dead.” Dad said.

“No, she was presumed dead. So was Jake ‘The Squirrel King’ Thomas, who is very much alive. He kidnapped Tamra and has been raising her.” Kara explained.

“So now she’s fighting the Wild Cats as the Squirrel Princess?” Dad asked.

Kara nodded.

“Oh wow, Harley must be going crazy.”

“She is.”

“This is good though. It will keep the Wild Cats occupied.” Lilli said.

“Yes, it’s good from a battle standpoint…but if Squirrel Princess is evil we will eventually have to take her out too.” Dad said.

“Yes, but first things first…the traitors got to go.”

“Then let’s move it out. Next stop…Reefside.” Brooke said.

Jeremy

“What are we going to do Jeremy? SPD US is on their way and the Wild Cats are busy with Squirrel Princess.” Kelli said.

“We still out number them by three. They don’t have a Purple, Pink, or Quantum Ranger.” I said.

“No, but they have the support of SPD behind them. We’re out numbered…by a lot.” JJ added.

“We have to do what we can. We can’t stand down.”

“We need a plan.” Dad said.

“Shouldn’t we wait for the Wild Cats?” Jamie asked.

“There’s no time. We need a plan now.”

“Do we know what SPD is up to?” I asked.

“I hacked their system the best I could. From what I was able to gather it’s a test run, not a full out attack. They want to get a feel for what they’re up against…I think.” Libby said.

“That’s good news, but assume nothing. Treat this as you would any other attack.” I instructed.

“Right…the intell we’re gathering can’t be trusted. They might be hacking our hack.” Chase agreed.

“Should we be helping the Wild Cats with Squirrel Princess?” Morgan asked.

“How? SPD is trying to kill us.” Merci said.

“Agreed. As much as I want to help the Wild Cats we simply don’t have the manpower right now. We have to focus on SPD.” I agreed.

“Do we wait for them to attack us or do we strike first?” Jamie asked.

“We strike first. Libby, keep a constant monitor of the city. The second you see anyone from SPD I want to know.” Dad said.

Libby nodded, “Yes sir.”

“So does this mean we can’t count on the Wild Cats?” Kelli asked.

“No, not at all.” Clarissa said as she ran in with her team.

“We’re here…just got delayed.” Bridget said as she tried to catch her breath.

“What happened to Squirrel Princess?” Morgan asked.

“Retreated.” Andie said.

“And the Squirrels?” JJ asked.

“Road kill.” Connie said.

“So fill us in.” Clarissa said.

“Intell suggests that SPD is on their way to stage a preliminary attack.” I said.

“OK, we’ll take them out.” Andie said.

“Um, can we avoid ‘taking them out’ please and just get them to surrender? I really don’t want to kill Dallas if I can avoid it.” Bridget said.

“Is fighting Dallas going to be a problem for you? We can’t afford for you to waver out there.” I said.

“I’ll be fine…really. I want to take SPD down too…but can’t we take them down without taking them out?”

“Maybe, maybe not. If it comes down to kill or be killed then…well I’m not going to die so your boyfriend can live.” JJ said.

“Bre understands that…she just wants there to be as few causalities as possible. We all do.” Sammi said.

I nodded, “Of course that’s what we all want, but that may not be possible.”

“War’s never pretty, but it will be worth it if we can stop SPD.” Dad said.

“We’ll do whatever it takes sir.” Clarissa said.

“Glad to hear it because SPD is here. They are patrolling downtown.” Chase said.

“Let’s move.” I said.

“Wait, hold up. Squirrel Princess is back. She’s in the park terrorizing citizens.” Libby said.

“No! Not now!” Andie cried.

“I’m really starting to hate our new cousin.” Clarissa said through gritted teeth.

“Starting?”

“Guys, we have to go handle her. Jeremy, we’ll catch up with you soon as we can.” Sammi said.

I nodded, “I understand…be careful.”

“You too.”

Sammi

“OK this is getting really annoying.” I said as we approached Tammy.

“Then surrender now.” Tammy countered.

“Not in this life time sister.”

“Have it your way. Squirrels, attack!”

“Oh no, here we go again.” Bre sighed.

“Let’s take these fur balls down.” Sage said.

“Sage just used a silly battle one-liner? I’m impressed.” Clarissa said.

“Not really the time.” Connie said as we started fighting.

“Someone tell me why fighting squirrels is so hard.” Andie said as we fought.

“It’s not the squirrels…it’s the number or squirrels.” Sage said.

“And I know how to cut the number down. Take out the big one.” I said.

“That didn’t work so well last time Sammi.” Clarissa said.

“I was just getting warmed up. Tammy! Face me you coward!” I cried.

“Ohhh, she just called you out.” Andie said.

“We’ll see about that.” Tammy said as she jumped at me. As she jumped she threw some purple lightning. It was minimal and weak. I easily dodged.

“Wow, your Sataurian powers are really weak. Good thing I’m future queen and not you.” I said.

Tammy paused, “Future queen?”

“Yeah. Grams is still queen but then it’s Mom and after Mom I’m next in line.”

“So if I take you out I’m future queen?”

“Nope. You’re still legally dead on Saturn…it would default to Bridget.”

“Well then I’ll take you all out and pretend to be you…I can tell by looking at you I’d look alright as a blonde.” Tammy smirked.

I sighed, “Yeah, like you could seriously take me out.”

“You’re not the only one with power.” Tammy said as she tried to make a lightning orb to hurl at me. It came out as sparse lightning that barely tickled.

“Seriously? That’s really lame.” Bre said.

“Really is. I could make lightning better than that.” Clarissa said.

Bre looked at her, “I thought you threw fire, not lightning…”

“Exactly.”

Tammy glared, “Great family I’ve got.”

“Hey, we’re perfectly nice when you’re not trying to kill us.” Clarissa retorted.

Sage nodded, “That does make a difference.”

“Yeah, it’s not like you made a great first impression on us.” Andie said.

“You’re not my cousin Black Ranger.” Tammy said.

“Actually we are if Uncle Josh is your father.” Connie said.

“He’s not. My father is Jacob Andrew Thomas.”

“Yeah, see, we don’t know that.” I said.

“Yeah, and you don’t know that he’s not your father too.”

“Can someone say DNA test? Seriously people, get one and settle this.” Andie said.

“I think they’re both afraid of the results.” Clarissa said.

“Neither wants to find out their father isn’t their father and inevitably one of them will” Sage said.

“DNA doesn’t matter.” I said.

“At least we agree on something.” Tammy said.

“Can we finish this? SPD kinda needs us.” Andie said.

Dallas

We arrived in Reefside and were trying to figure out where SPD UK would be based out of.

“The school…Starlight.” I said.

“Not likely. Michelle and Hunter know this is war and they wouldn’t put their students at risk.” Dad said.

“Commander Tate is right.” Brooke said.

“Do you know where they are?” Charli asked.

Brooke shook her head, “No, Blaine never told me and I doubt he’d tell me now.”

“No need, we’re not running.” A voice said.

I looked up and saw Jeremy and his team.

“Good, this makes it easy to contain you traitors.” Brooke said.

“We’re not the traitors. You’re traitors to the entire planet by supporting SPD.” Merci said.

“Commander Tate, I want nothing more than to end this war. Surely you see the threat SPD poses.” Commander Jax said.

“The only threat I see here is standing in front of me.” Dad replied.

“Then let’s get this over with.” JJ said as they Morphed.

“OK guys, you know what to do.” Brooke said as we Morphed and took them on. Dad and Commander Jax fought as did Brooke and Jeremy. There rest of us were out numbered 2:1. Jamie and Kelli took on Charli, JJ and Morgan went up against Lilli, and I was left to handle Chase and Merci.

“I don’t like these odds.” I said.

“We gave you a chance to back down.” Merci said.

“How can you guys do this? SPD has done so much for you.”

“SPD killed my parents. And just ask Morgan or Jeremy what SPD did for them.”

“SPD would not harm anyone unwarranted.” I countered.

“Hack their firewalls sometimes. You’d be amazed at what you’d find.” Chase said.

“Yeah, what Chase discovered was so horrible he joined us.” Merci said.

“It’s not true.” I said. I refused to believe SPD would ever do what these people were claiming.

The battle went on for awhile but we were just too outnumbered. Dad eventually gave the order to retreat, which we did. I had to give the UK team credit…they could fight.

Jeremy

After SPD retreated Dad led us back to our base.

“Nicely done.” I said once we had gotten back.

“Yes, it was a nice stand…but it was a test. They let themselves be outnumbered but they could have called for back up…and next time they will.” Dad said.

“Yeah, but we have the Wild Cats to back us up.” Morgan said.

“We can’t count on them.” Kelli said.

“She’s right.” Sammi said as she walked in with her team.

“Tammy is relentless. She is more of a nuisance than an actual threat, but she can’t be left to run loose.” Clarissa said.

“And since she’s our family it’s our job to deal with her.” Sage said.

“And she’s unpredictable at best.” Bridget said.

“As much as we want to help, Tammy is making that very difficult.” Sammi said.

“But we will do what we can.” Andie said.

“That’s all we can ask. We need any help we can get.” I said.

“You’re right. SPD is just getting started. This wasn’t even a battle. It was a warm up.” Morgan said.

“This is what we’ve been training for, right?” Kelli said.

Dad nodded, “Yes. And I have faith in you all. We will fight to the finish and we have the heart and skill to win. We just have to be ready.”
