PRT 335- “Re-Awakened”
I’d just finished listening to Raye’s album when Mina walked in the studio.
“Hey.” She said.
“Hey Min. Have you heard this?” I asked.
Mina nodded, “Yeah, good stuff huh?”
“Yeah, I like it. Serena’s is good too. I think we have some quality work coming out of this duo turned duel.”
Mina laughed, “Yeah, that’s one way to look at it.”
“I’m wiped. You wanna go hang out?”
“Sure. What did you have in mind?”
“I don’t care. We can go to my place and watch TV for all I care.. I just need to chill.”
“I could go for that.”
We got back to my apartment and ended up watching TV for awhile. I was starting to doze off when my cell rang.
“Hello?” I asked, answering it.
“Michelle…” a familiar voice said.
“Amara? Is that you?”
“Yeah.”
“What’s up?”
“I don’t really know how to tell you this…”
“Amara, what’s going on?”
“Hotaru is missing.”
I nearly dropped the phone, “WHAT?!”
“We think she was kidnapped. When I got home from the track I went up to her room. She’s normally up there doing homework, only she wasn’t. Her window was broken and it looks like she was taken by force.”
“Human force or supernatural force?”
“I’m not sure. I don’t think we should involve the police until we know what’s going on.”
“OK, fair enough. Something weird is going on. We need to meet.” I said.
“Agreed.”
“OK, meet at Raye’s
“See you there.”
I explained the situation to Mina and we headed to the temple. Mina called the other girls on the way. We all got to the temple.
“OK Amara, what’s going on? Any clues?” I asked.
“Nothing. I’m so sorry Michelle.” Amara said.
“It’s not your fault.”
“Right, the important thing is finding out who…or what is behind this.” Mina said.
“I think these may come in handy.” Luna said as she flipped up in the air and these charm bracelets appeared in front of us. Each of the bracelets were silver but had a heart shaped charmed in our various colors.
“What is this Luna?” Raye asked.
“Something you’ll want to keep with you.” Luna replied.
“So what do we do? We need a plan.” Lita said.
“There’s no plan that can save you now.” A voice said as we got blasted.
“What the fuck?” I said as we looked up. There was a Sailor Solider wearing all black.
“Who do you think you are?” Raye demanded.
“Poser!” Lita cried.
“I’m Sailor Nemesis and you’re history.” The mysterious Soldier said.
“Girls, use your bracelets. They are new transformation devices.” Luna said.
“What’s the call?” Serena asked.
“Serena, call Moon Spirit Power…the rest of you use your planet.”
“Luna, I’m a Ranger, not a Soldier.” I said.
“Hotaru is gone. You have to Michelle.”
I nodded.
“Ready?” Serena asked.
“Ready!”
“Moon Spirit Power!”
“Mars Spirit Power!”
“Mercury Spirit Power!”
“Jupiter Spirit Power!”
“Venus Spirit Power!”
“Uranus Spirit Power!”

“Saturn Spirit Power!”
“Pluto Spirit Power!”
One we transformed we faced off against Nemesis.
“So Nemesis, you wanna rethink that last statement?” Jupiter asked.
“You Soldiers may have won this time but I’ll be back and I will defeat you.” Nemesis said, vanishing.
“Power down.” I said.
“Power down.” Everyone else echoed.
“OK Luna, who’s Nemesis?” Serena asked.
“I don’t know. Artemis?” Luna asked.
Artemis sighed.
“You know something…Artemis start talking or prepare to sleep outside.” Mina said.
“OK, OK…Nemesis is a planet…part of our solar system. Earth astronomers haven’t discovered yet but it’s there…the tenth planet.” Artemis started.
“Whoa, there’s another planet?” Raye asked.
“Wouldn’t that make it the ninth planet?” Lita asked.
Trista made a face, “Pluto is a planet thank you very much…stupid Earthlings…no wonder they haven’t found Nemesis…they can’t even accept Pluto is a planet.”
“Bitter much?” Amara teased.
Trista rolled her eyes.
“Stop. Artemis, continue.” Mina said.
“OK, Nemesis was meant to be the fourth guardian for Princess Michelle and the Amethyst but a dark power overtook Nemesis and Sailor Nemesis became evil. During the final battle of the Silver Millennium Serenity sent the Princess of Nemesis to be reborn on Earth, but she made it so Nemesis would never awaken…or at least she thought she did.” Artemis said.
“Well crap.” I said.
“Do we know who Princess Nemesis is?” Amy asked.
“I’m afraid I can’t remember that part.” Artemis said.
“I bet Nemesis has Hotaru.” Michele said.
“Probably, but why? What would she want with her?” I asked.
“I’m afraid we’ll find out soon.” Amara said.
“In the meantime we have to keep our guard up. And Michelle, will you be Sailor Saturn?” Artemis asked.
I nodded, “Yeah. Sure. Unless another Ranger team needs me.”
“Fair enough. Welcome to the team.”
“OK Soldiers keep in contact and be careful.” Luna said.
“Thanks Luna.” I said.
I got to the apartment and went in. RJ was sitting on the
sofa watching the DVR. He paused it when he saw me.
“Whoa, MJ, you look serious. What happened?” he asked.
I sighed, “Found out what awakened the other day.”
“You found your new Ranger team?”
“No. It’s not a Ranger team.”
“It’s not?”
“No. A new Sailor Solider…an evil one.”
“What? Really?”
“Yeah. Really.
And Hotaru is gone…I think Sailor Nemesis is behind
it. Anyway, that means the team is down a Sailor Saturn…you can guess who got
recruited.”
RJ looked at me, “What? You mean you’re Sailor Saturn now?”
“Si senor.”
“And Sailor Nemesis? The evil Soldier?”
“Si.”
“OK. You have to help me out here. I’m confused. I know
you’re a Saturn princess and I know Hotaru is as well
and…somehow you have access to the Sailor Saturn and Purple Ranger powers…and
the Sailor Soldiers have been inactive for years…I’m kinda
lost.”
I nodded, “Yeah, sorry. OK. I’ll try to keep this short.
Saturn is known for having two sides. Hope and creation on
one side, despair and destruction on the other. That’s Hotaru and I. I am the Saturn Princess of hope and
creation, Hotaru despair and destruction.
Theoretically the Outer Soldiers were supposed to prevent Hotaru
from ever being born. That didn’t exactly happen for various reasons depending
on which myth you believe and being as it was literally a different lifetime
some of our past gets distorted. Anyway, because there were two Saturn
Princesses, Queen Serenity used her power to create the everlasting Power of
Purple to make sure I was protected. As you know the other Princesses are the
Soldiers of their respective planets. And yes, they have been fairly inactive
since Sailor Galaxia’s defeat…the last evil Sailor
they fought.. They’ve pretty much been going about
their lives, with a battle here of there. They helped the Ninja Rangers back in
2005 and stuff like that…oddly against an evil spirit named Nemesis…oh crap…I
wonder if that Nemesis is related to this Nemesis…I think I have research to
do. Anyway, as I said, they’re down a Sailor and I can take her place so there
you have it.” I explained.
“And this other life you speak of…are you Earthling or Sataurian?”
“Earthling. I’m not an alien or
anything. Yeah, I have the genetic make up of a Sataurian
but I wasn’t born that way. I’m just the reincarnation of Princess Michelle of
Saturn. My past life was just so strong that it over takes my current one
sometimes. When I awoke as the Saturn Princess, thus awakening my Amethyst, it
changed me. I started to be able to tap into my Sataurian
powers and certain aspects of my genetic make up were altered. However, I am
still Earthling. My parents are still my parents and I’m still just me.”
“So you were actually a normal human until your past life
awakened?”
“Exactly…Queen Serenity wanted it that way…that’s why she
sent our souls to this time period…so we could live normal lives unless it was
absolutely necessary for our past to awaken.”
“Which is how Hotaru
and Serena aren’t actually your half sisters.”
“Right. In my past life they were,
in this life we have no relation.”
“OK, I think I’m starting to get it. So then this battle is
just getting started?”
I nodded, “Yeah. Sailor Nemesis seems bent on taking us
out.”
“And where is she from? Who is she?”
“She’s from Nemesis…the undiscovered tenth planet…and as for
who she is…we don’t know yet…although she seems to know who we are…what I do
know is that she knows what happened to Hotaru.”
“Is there anything I can do? I still have the Wolf Morpher.”
“I appreciate that RJ but this is our fight. The girls and I
can handle it. Believe me, if we need any outside help you, Adam, and
“You’re a great Ranger MJ and you’ll be a terrific Solider.”
“Thanks.”
“I have faith in you.”
“And I love you for that. I’m not sure what this battle will
bring but I know as long as I have you by my side I’ll be fine.” I said as I
kissed him.
Ok, so this was certainly a new chapter in my history. Sailor Saturn. Wow. I wouldn’t need to train this team. They
were seasoned vets. I could simply be a part of the team…I was one of them. And
while I didn’t know what Nemesis had in store of what she’d done with Hotaru…I did know this…I had amazing friends and we made a
great team. Nemesis was going to regret the day she awakened.
